Stainborough were put into bat and despite losing a wicket in the first over made good runs. Both Matthew Grimshaw (32) and Ben Armitage (30) had to retire before Josh Abson (21 n.o.) and Ryan Johnson (19 n.o.) pushed the total to an impressive 129-2 from their 20 overs.

Darton could not have made a worse start when the opener was run out with an excellent throw from Ben Armitage. However, Darton recovered and were always up with the required run rate thanks to M. Foster (30), L. Adams (30) and J. Lowe (31). The Stainborough fielding was well below standard and Darton hit the winning runs with just 3 balls to spare.

Stainborough were left to reflect on a series of missed runout opportunities and dropped catches that would have probably seen a different outcome.
