Stainborough won the toss and elected to bat first.

The opening bowlers Walmsley and Pettet bowled tightly, but Stainborough looked in control before Sam Askey (8) and then Ben Armitage (9) were dismissed. Matthew Grimshaw played the anchor role and accumulated 30 before having to retire. Josh Abson upped the scoring rate and was dismissed in the 20th and final over for an impressive 27. Josh Rennison was 7 n.o. in a Stainborough total of 97-3.

Stainborough came out on the attack and reduced Rockingham to 11-6 off the first seven overs.
