Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough were put into bat and made
good progress thanks to Jake Malkin hitting
and unbeaten 32 before he had to retire.
The rest of the batters struggled against
good bowling with B. Jones (2-4) and B.
Cameron (2-2) turning in good performances.
Stainborough crept to a total of 64-8 off
their 20 overs.
If Stainborough were to get anything from
the game they would have to bowl well. Matthew
Grimshaw bowled an excellent spell of 4
overs 1-2, but at 21-1 off 7 overs Woolley
were in the driving seat. However, this
was all to change when Ben Armitage took
an hat-trick in his first over, clean bowling
all of his vicitims. This was the turning
point and Woolley never recovered. Further
wickets by Armitage and Peter Kaskiewicz
restricted the visitors. A final total of
53-7 ensured a well deserved win for Stainborough.
