Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough batted first and Joel Matthews
was on top form hitting 20 not out. Sam
Askey added 11 but the loss of 5 wickets
in the first half of the innings was to
prove costly. C. Buxton taking 3-3 in his
two over spell. M. Grimshaw and S. French
put on 28 runs before Ben Armitage (12 n.o.)
and A. Bamford took the gross total to 295
(net 265).
In response C. Buxton (21) made good early
runs before the Stainborough bowlers regained
control. However, E. Smith (20) took Worsborough
within 10 runs of their target with the
final pair left to bat. Jake Malkin guaranteed
victory for the hosts by hitting 34 not
out.
