Woolley batted first and found scoring very
difficult. Both Sam Askey and Elliott Mann
took wickets for Stainborough as Woolley
made slow progress. However, the final pairing
of B. Jones and B. Sims put on 32 runs to
make the final net score a competitive 252.
Stainborough looked comfortable in reply,
but just when they appeared to get on top
a wicket would fall. Good contributions
from Sam Askey (14) and Ben Armitage (10
n.o.) left the match all square with the
final pairing still to bat. A Stainborough
win was never in doubt when M. Grimshaw
(15 n.o.) and Sam French (6) picked up the
runs to surpass the required target.
