Match Report
|
| |
Unbeaten league leaders Barnsley, were put
into bat and got off to a great start hitting
3 boundaries off the first over. All the
batsmens looked in good form and only tight
bowling restricted the score. However, the
lack of wickets ensured that the final target
was an impressive 295.
Stainborough showed their fighting spirit
with partnerships of 25 between Curtis Parker
& Matthew Grimshaw, and 35 between John
Stones and Elliot Mann, keeping the game
alive. However, as the last pairing went
in search of the 30 runs needed for victory,
the loss of 3 wickets ended any hopes of
reaching the target.
The Stainborough team should be proud of
putting up an excellent performance against
a very good side.
