Woolley were asked to bat first and got off
to a good start when the opening partnership
put on 14 runs from their 4 overs. However,
that was soon to change when Matthew Grimshaw
took an hat-trick of wickets with his first
over. A further two wickets from Elliot Mann
brought the net score back under 200. Alex
Bamford also bowled well with no runs coming
from his two overs to leave Woolley with a
final net score of 199..
In response Stainborough were never in trouble
by accumulating runs at a steady rate whilst
keeping their wickets intact. Josh Rennison
and Curtis Parker added 10 runs for the first
partnership. This was followed by 5 runs from
William Denton and Alex Bamford. The result
was beyond doubt when E. Mann hit three boundaries
in his 23 run partnership with Peter Kaskiewicz.
The final pairing of Matthew Grimshaw and
Sam French contributed a further 18 runs to
complete the victory.
