Match Report

Stainborough again came out on top, after a nailbiting finish against Dodworth.

Batting first Stainborough made a confident start with Robbie McInerny (12) hitting a couple of boundaries. Josh Abson continued the good work with 14 not out. However, Dodworth came back with some tight bowling, restricting Stainborough to 253-4 with just 4 overs left. Josh Rennison hit a much needed 14 not out to take the final score to 276-4 (net 256).

Dodworth's run chase began slowly, but by keeping their wickets intact the game was still alive. With the final pairing at the crease the score was 235-1, still needing 24 runs for victory. A flurry of boundaries from C. Westwood (12) and S. Severn (13) took Dodworth within a run of their target. However, Connor Lally took two wickets in two balls to swing the game back in Stainborough's favour. Jack Lally held his nerve in the last over to ensure that Dodworth fell 3 runs short of their target.
