Match Report
|
| |
Due to holidays, Stainborough could only
field 6 players including 8 year old debutant
Richard Grimshaw. This meant that two players
would have to bat twice and unfortunately
for Silkstone it was Connor Lally who was
drawn from the hat. In his first innings
he knocked 14 n.o. and this was followed
up with 27 n.o. in his second. His two innings
included no less than 9 boundaries. However,
a net total of 272 would be difficult to
defend with just 6 fielders.
There were plenty of gaps in the field and
J. Almond (13), R.Watson (11 n.o.) and R.
Carsley (10 n.o.) made useful contributions.
However, it was Connor Lally who again struck
with the ball taking 2-10 in his 3 over
spell. S. Killoway (23 n.o.) kept Silkstone
in the match, but when Elliott Mann took
a wicket in the last over it guaranteed
an amazing victory for Stainborough.
