Match Report
|
| |
Hemsworth won the toss and elected to bat
first. They got off to a flying start taking
27 off the first two overs. This set the
trend for the entire innings with Wainwright
90 and Locke 88 dominating the bowling.
S. Hargreaves 3-50, L. Selwood 2-42 and
G. McInerny 2-40 were the Stainborough wicket
takers. This left Stainborough chasing 286
to progress to the next round.
In reply Stainborough rarely looked in trouble,
but the run rate of over 7 an over was never
really achievable. Jonathan Pepper played
some excellent shots in his 33 and Richard
Umbers also looked comfortable accumulating
37. Luke Selwood (15) and Steve Hargreaves
(18 n.o.) also made late contributions.
After the 40 Overs Stainborough had reached
a respectable 162-7.
