Match Report
|
| |
An opening partnership of 185 between
Jonathan Pepper (104) and Chris Hall (84)
put Stainborough in the driving seat in
the top of the table clash at Sandal.
Pepper's second century of the season included
14 fours and 3 sixes, whilst Hall's innings
included 15 boundaries. Mark France hit
28, but the strive for quick runs saw no
less than four wickets fall in the last
three overs of the innings to leave a final
score of 247-7. S. Khan taking 4-70 for
the home side.
Sandal never looked like achieving their
target and were out of the game at 59-6.
Excellent spells form Dave Kershaw (3-29),
Phil Campbell (3-24) and France (2-39) restricting
the hosts. Sandal's hopes of hanging on
were dashed when Luke Selwood and then Hall
took wickets to dismiss Sandal for 138 with
just two overs remaining.
The win sees Stainborough open up a 14
point lead at the top of the league, with
Sandal remaining in second place.
