Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough got back to winning
ways with a comprehensive victory over Yorkshire
Main.
Batting first Stainborough made an impressive
230-5, with Paul Brown hitting an unbeaten
107 that included 14 fours and 3 sixes.
Jonathan Pepper (30), Chris Hall (27) and
Richard Umbers (26) had earlier got Stainborough
off to a solid start. Dave Kershaw (18 not
out) also made a useful contribution late
in the innings. J. Hutt (3-38) was the pick
of the bowlers for the visitors.
The loss of early wickets in the Yorkshire
Main response left them struggling at 51-5.
However, a useful partnership between G.
Sykes (55) and S. Sykes (27) ensured that
they reached a respectable 174 before being
finally bowled out. Kershaw, Pepper, Mark
France and Tom McInerny all picked up two
wickets each for the hosts.
