Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough increased their lead
at the top of the table to 8 points with
a comfortable win over second placed Hooton
Pagnell. Batting first Stainborough got
off to a good start with Chris Hall (35)
and Dave Exley (21) making the runs. However,
a series of poor shots saw a collapse from
70-1 to 91-5 with G. Toyne 3-41 doing the
damage. Useful contributions from John Hall
(18), Richard Grange (18), Tom Markham (19)
and Kevin Grimshaw (26 not out) saw Stainborough
recover to post a respectable total of 176-9.
After the break, Markham (1-31) and Grimshaw
(1-17) saw off the openers, before Exley
produced a fine spell of bowling taking
3-24 in 11 overs. Ged McInerny chipped in
with 4-23 to dismiss the visitors for 109.
Only B. Johnson (44) put up any resistance.
