Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough took advantage of good batting
conditions to post a total of 216. Jonathan
Pepper (85) and Chris Hall (60) put on a
third wicket partnership of 122 to leave
Stainborough in a strong position. In fact
the final total was a little disappointing
with no less than 5 wickets falling in the
last few overs as wickets were sacrificed
in order to boost the total. D. Lister was
the pick of the bowlers taking 4-40.
An early break through was made in the Darton
response, but then J. Morley (37) and G.
Beaumont (29) survived a flurry of dropped
catches to take the total to 77-1 at the
innings mid-point. However, once they were
dismissed only C. Geldart (43) offered any
real resistance and Darton never looked
like reaching their target. Dave Exley deserved
better than his 1-38 off 14 overs, whilst
Kevin Grimshaw took 4-33, Jonathan Pepper
2-15 and Ged McInerny 2-28 in the dismissal
of Darton for 138.
