Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough comfortable beat bottom club
Yorkshire Main, but it had looked unlikely
earlier in the afternoon.
Having been put into bat, Yorkshire Main
got off to a flying start with opener A.
Hutt (53) attempting to hit a boundary off
almost every delivery. At 91-2 in only the
16th over, a huge target was on the cards.
However, superb bowling spells from Chris
Hall (2-25) off 14 overs and Dave Kershaw
(4-41) off 14 overs brought the scoring
rate back to normality. Only J. Henry 42
offered any real resistance and when he
was the final wicket to fall the total had
reached 148. Kevin Grimshaw (3-39) took
the final wickets to bring some respectibility
back to his figures.
Stainborough never looked in danger of falling
short of their target in their run chase.
Alistair Gilfillan (18) putting on 35 for
the first wicket, before Richard Grange
(49) smashed five fours, and two massive
sixes in his aggresive innings. Jonathan
Pepper (13) and Chris Hall (23) added good
runs before Ged McInenery (20 n.o.) completed
the victory with 10 overs to spare.

Most Valuble Player
|
| |
Richard
Grange was named MVP for an excellent innings
of 49 and in a style that deflated the Yorkshire
Main bowling attack and therefore setting
up the comfortable win. |
