Tour of Dundee
- September 2005
|
| |
|
| Sunday
morning, and it was a quick check out of the
hotel before making the 45 minute trip to
Freuchie. We were unfortunately greeted with
heavy rain on arrival, but the weather soon
changed for the better and the covers were
removed to reveal an excellent batting track.
Again we were asked to bat first, but up against
stronger opposition (including a Scotland
International), we did not expect the same
level of success as that of the previous day.

|
However, Pepper, Rushforth and Clarke all
made useful contributions but the star of
the show was Richard Mills who hit an unbeaten
90 in a total of 208-4 off a reduced 35 overs.
In reply, Freuchie reached their target in
the final over for the loss of 5 wickets.
The Scottish International hit 90 runs which
included a six that went flat to the boundary,
hit the wall and bounced back to the wicket.
All that was left was the long drive back
to Yorkshire, with memories of an excellent
weekend enjoyed by all.
We would like to express our gratitude to
the Broughty Ferry locals, and both Rossie
Priory and Freuchie Cricket Clubs, for their
hospitality.
