Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough went 9 points clear at the
top with another convincing win at Barnby
Dun.
The visitors were asked to bowl on a sweltering
day, but the bowlers made light of the heat
with Clarke taking 5-49 from 13 superb overs,
well supported by Archer (2-39). The home
side scored a challenging 211-7 on a difficult
wicket.
In reply the aggressive Londt hammered
10 fours in a belligerent 55 and together
with Clarke gave the bowlers all sorts of
problems. After Londt departed a rapid partnership
of 96 between Ward (35) and hard-hitting
man of the match Clarke (63 not out) made
the wicket look easy, then Abson supported
Clarke at the end to ensure a Stainborough
win by 5 wickets with 5 overs to spare.
