Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough earned a hard fought win in
a high scoring match at home to Hensall.
After being put in on a green wicket, the
visitors made good progress against indifferent
bowling, but Clarke (4-74), supported by
Rushforth, Londt and Archer managed to slow
down the scoring. Despite this Hensall,
helped by 59 from Alford, posted a daunting
228-7.
In reply Stainborough lost 3 early wickets
but the remaining batsmen contributed well.
Man of the match Clarke followed up his
4 wickets with a superb 41, supported by
Rushforth, Abson and Brown who all got into
the thirties. Stainborough were always ahead
of the rate and eventually scored 232-8
with 8 overs to spare to win by 2 wickets
and remain top of the league.
