Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough A continued their run with
a win at Crofton in a tight encounter. Batting
first, Crofton struggled against aggressive
bowling from Celliers (2-20) and Clarke
(2-41), but despite a slow start they posted
a competitive 173-6.
In reply the Stainborough batsmen all got
starts but wickets fell regularly. Ward
got the innings back on track with a solid
36 until he was caught on the fence. Crofton
almost had the game won when number nine
Matt Brown joined Webster with 40 needed
off 8 overs. Despite 5-59 from Shepherd,
Stainborough required 3 off the last over
with 2 wickets standing, but Brown (38 not
out) crashed a six off the first ball to
complete the 2 wicket win.
