Match Report
|
| |
Stainborough had a convincing local derby
win at Monk Bretton. In scorching conditions,
Stainborough batted first and got off to
a blistering start. As the Monk Bretton
bowlers wilted in the heat, skipper Londt
and Gilfillan (41) put on 148 for the 1st
wicket, with Londt smashing 107 off 77 balls.
Archer (31) and Clarke (24) took the total
to a daunting 254-5 at tea.
In reply, good bowling, fielding and catching
had Monk Bretton under pressure and only
Dixon (34) showed resistance. Wickets were
shared between Clarke (3-39), Celliers (2-14),
Rushforth (2-14) and Brown (2-37), and Monk
Bretton slumped to 135 all out with Stainborough
winning by a massive 119 runs.
