Match Report
|
| |
SCC won the toss and elected to field first.
Matt Rushworth got the first break through
a catch well taken by keeper Dave Webster
standing up to the wickets. Immediately thereafter
Bobby Londt struck with an LBW decision which
had SCC well on their way or so they thought.
That is unfortunately as good as it got for
SCC on the day. Wombwell consolidated well
and posted a competitive score of 199 for
8.
SCC was in trouble early on and never recovered,
three of the first four batsmen were dismissed
without scoring, a position SCC couldn't recover
from. Things got from bad to worse as SCC
was dismissed for a shameful 56. A cricket
lesson well delivered from Wombwell Main.
Obviously this was a severe loss but the team
will live to see another game. Knowing the
lads I am positive things will drastically
improve.
A special thank you to the tea ladies Suzie
Fletcher & Anelle Londt . Also a big thank
you to Ian Fletcher and Shane Abson for sharing
the scoring duties.
Lets hope next week is a better one. |
